On December 22, 2015, at 7:24 p.m. deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Route 5 and Golden Beach Road, for the report of a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed Sandra Elaine Brickman, age 56, of Charlotte Hall, was attempting to cross southbound Route 5 towards Heavy Hitters bar. Brickman entered the roadway without yielding to oncoming traffic and was struck by a 2011 Chevrolet passenger car operated by Dale Robert Tucker, age 22, of La Plata. Brickman suffered severe injuries and was ground transported to Prince George’s County Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the accident. Anyone with any information in regards to the collision is asked to contact, Corporal Brian Connelly #151 at 301-475-4040.
