Theft: On Sept. 2, 2018, Cpl. Brian Connelly responded to the Motel 6 in Lexington Park for the report of a theft. The victim advised that Robin Anne Laabs, 47, of Lexington Park took the victim’s wallet after giving her a ride. Laabs admitted to taking the wallet and it was recovered. Laabs was charged with Theft: Less than $100. CASE# 46278-18
Burglary: On Sept. 5, 2018, Laabs, in a separate incident at the 21000 block of Winding Way in Lexington Park, was charged with First-Degree Burglary, Fourth-Degree Burglary and Theft: Less than $100 by DFC Sheena Tirpak. CASE# 47084-18

False Statement: On Sept. 2, 2018, St. Mary’s County deputies and Maryland State Police responded to the 21000 block of Ace Lane in Lexington Park for the report of sexual abuse. Lindsey Lynn Lam, 43, of Lexington Park admitted that she lied and made up the allegation. She stated she was upset with having to do all of the housework and others not doing their proper share. Lam was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown and charged with one count of False Statement to Officer by Cpl. Scott Ruest. CASE# 46374-18

CDS Possession: On Sept. 3, 2018, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Great Mills Road. While speaking with the operator of a vehicle, Cpl. James Stone detected the strong odor of suspected marijuana emitting from Devonte Montel Golden, 23, of Lexington Park and the compartment of the vehicle. A K-9 positively alerted to the interior of Golden’s vehicle and a large bag of marijuana was found in the center console which weighed 28.6 grams (more than one ounce). Golden was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession Marijuana more than 10 grams and CDS Possession Paraphernalia. Theft, Rogue, Trespassing: On Sept. 3, 2018, Dep. Richard Forbes responded to the California Walmart store for the report of a theft. Forbes made contact with George Preston Schaffer, 37, of no fixed address who admitted entering into a truck in the parking lot and taking loose change. Walmart employees also advised that Schaffer had a no trespassing order against him from 2015. Schaffer was arrested, transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center and charged with Theft under $100, Rogue and Vagabond and Trespass Private Property. CASE# 46540-18

CDS, Contraband: On Sept. 3, 2018, Cpl. John Kirkner responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center for the report of contraband being introduced to the facility. Amanda Renea Wedding, 32, of Great Mills admitted that a package containing a 12 mg strip of Suboxone (a Schedule 3 controlled substance) was hers. She stated she brought the package into the facility accidentally and hit it until her pending release date. Wedding failed to inform the detention center she was in possession of the Suboxone. Wedding was charged with Possession of Contraband in a Place of Confinement and CDS Possession: Not Marijuana. CASE# 46602-18

Trespassing, Disturbing the Peace: On Sept. 3, 2018, Dep. Matthew Beyer responded to Millison Plaza in Lexington Park for a highly intoxicated subject, surrounded by citizens. James Edward Nolan, 60, of no fixed address was placed into a vehicle while a notice not to trespass was completed. Nolan became belligerent in the vehicle and then stumbled out into the parking lot and refused to leave. Nolan began to walk into the Big Lots store where he was just served notice not to trespass. Nolan refused to leave the property after being ordered to do so and was placed under arrest, charged with Trespass Private Property, Disorderly Conduct, Fail to Obey and Disturbing the Peace.
